Live Simply!

My new "mantra" ... Keeping it simple, one day at a time!  It has been YEARS since I've updated this blog and it always seems to be about this time of year, with summer fast approaching, that I'm thinking of updating this blog!

Today is Memorial Day 2017 and lots has changed ... my kids are grown and working toward some pretty lofty goals, I continue to work as a Junior High School teacher!  I cannot believe how quickly time passes!

Planning a lazy day, breakfast with mom and dad, followed by lots of school work!  The last day of school is fast approaching!  So MUCH to do before the blissful empty calendar of summer arrives!

Summertime 2013

Well, it's been almost a year!  Yikes!   The summer has just begun!

Let's give a quick rundown ... Victoria is 16 and has just finished her Junior Year in the AICE program!  She has started her first (paying) job and is excited about preparing her college applications this summer!

Joe has just turned 22 and is finishing up his degree in Biology from FSU and deciding about his future!  We spent yesterday visiting him and celebrating his birthday with dinner at Red Lobster!

Kelly and I are proud to be their parents and marvel at the people they are becoming!

I hope to keep this blog (more) current and hope to learn all about how to make it beautiful!

Happy Spring!  It's all about cars around here!

Victoria has her first car!  She'll be 16 soon so we decided to go ahead and find her something old, reliable and not too ugly!  Kelly did a great job finding her a 10 year old BMW - and it's RED!  She's pretty pleased!

While Kelly was doing all of the "leg work", he found a car for Joe's early graduation present too!  We planned to upgrade Joe's car next year anyways so we went ahead and got Joe a BMW too!  Check it out!

Kelly sold the van to fund these cars and so guess what he's driving?  The good old Blazer!  He's got it all shined up and polished, added some window tint and a new stereo system ... everyone's happy!

Happy 4th of July!

We are celebrating the day with a lazy start for the kids, Kelly is off to his mother's to unclog her sink drain and I'm busy doing laundry - again - and working on my vacation "To Do" list.  It's a massive undertaking to get four people, seven cats, two dogs and one guinea pig ready for a seven day vacation!  It's a bit overwhelming which is why I find it comforting to blog when I should be doing things that are on that list! :)


To celebrate the 4th of July, we will watch the fireworks at Moosehaven tonight!  It should be fun!  Perhaps I'll get some pictures!

Getting Started!

Well, June is almost gone and I've just started working on this Blog!  Enjoy!

Today, I'm busy with laundry that has piled up following our traditional trip to the Navy Lodge at Mayport, FL to celebrate summer and the 4th of July festivities a bit early.  It was loads of fun and very relaxing at the same time!  All we do is swim at the beach, hunt for seashells, swim in the pool and of course, lots of eating goes on too!  We even enjoyed some fireworks too!  It's incredible how quickly the kids are growing up ... seems like just yesterday that our main task was to make sure they we had everyone accounted for and make sure their little heads stayed above the water!  :)
